 A lot of air purifiers has been developed and released with increasing PM. The performance of air purifier was evaluated in the environment chamber by relevant standards. However, there is a lack of information about the air purifier in living area, so consumers were difficult to choice it. In this study, five air purifiers were tested in apartments which has different structure. In order to examine the effect of air purifier, we assumed 3 cases such as inflow of pollutants from outdoor by ventilation, smoking of residents, and cooking (fish baking). In result of examine, the efficiency of the D and B products of the 3-stage configuration (pre filter+HEPA filter+activity carbon) was the best in most experiments. In case of ionizer type E product, the efficiency is very low and sometimes, it was increased the particulate matter in indoor. Considering the price-performance ratio, it is most reasonable to use the air purifier composed pre-filter and HEPA filter without another additional configuration.
